Our Story

Our History

Malone’s Refuse Service was founded in 1929 by Frank Malone in Westport, Connecticut. In the beginning, residents burned their garbage down to ash, and Frank would collect the ash remnants. In the early 1980’s, Frank’s grandson James (Jim) Malone purchased the family business from him. Jim and his wife Sue proceeded to grow the family business over the next few decades until Jim’s passing in 2020. Sue Malone is now the owner of Malone’s Refuse Service, which she runs with her two children, Michael and Kristen. To this day, the business is still based right here in Westport. The Malone family is proud to be part of the Westport community, and we thank all of our customers for supporting our family business. We look forward to providing service for many more years to come.

Our Community

In the last few years, we have been lucky enough to participate in touch-a-truck events, sponsorship of Westport Little League teams, and donating service as an auction item for the Westport Fire Department fundraiser, as well as A Better Chance of Westport Dream Event. We look forward to participating in many more community events in the future.
